Hypnotherapy

I help people move past the blocks in their life so they are able to live their most authentic, rich and inspiring life. I support clients work on such goals as anxiety, depression, smoking cessation, relationship issues, midlife transitional issues and other important goals.

Our work together will focus on understanding and addressing the cause of your symptoms. This approach allows for the development of client centred, customized sessions that get to the root of the issue, providing lasting change.

This entails understanding the beliefs you’ve created and how these beliefs led to the development of your survival adaptations. Different life experiences lead to different adaptations such as anxiety/heightened vigilance/fight or flight arousal, people pleasing, following ‘the prescribed path’ instead of living your truth, addictions, intimacy issues and many more.

At some point in life, often when we were young, these adaptions served us and helped us survive. However, today these adaptations are blocking you from reaching your goals and living as the real you. The sessions I plan for you will be designed to help you update your subconscious mind so that you can let go of the adaptations that are no longer serving you and instead re-program your subconscious mind with more supportive beliefs and practices that are in alignment with the life you want to live.

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.

 There is no obligation to go ahead with sessions after the consultation. The free consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, answer any questions and see if we are a fit to work together.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis involves a verbally catalyzed relaxation process (induction) that takes the person into an altered state of consciousness caused by slowing down their brain waves. Hypnosis calms the conscious mind which allows access to the subconscious mind. By working with the subconscious mind, we are able to remove the blocks to actualizing our conscious desires and intentions.

When we are alert and awake, we are in a Beta brain wave state. Through the relaxation process, brain waves gradually slow down into an Alpha state, and for some people even slower into a Theta state. These slower brain wave states allow access to the powerful subconscious mind which holds all our beliefs, history, and stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and the world we live in.

The hypnotic state is a normal, relaxed, receptive and enjoyable mental state. Hypnosis is characterized by feeling relaxed, being open to ideas/creativity, and having an amplified imagination. Its like feeling totally immersed in an amazing conversation, good book, or familiar drive where time loses it’s meaning, the external environment is tuned out and our creative mind and long-term memory is activated.   

The purpose of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique is to gain more control over your behaviour, emotions or physical well-being.

Hypnotherapy leverages hypnosis to help a client resolve or understand a problem better.

This allows clients to:

  • Examine how their beliefs have been formed, and change those outdated beliefs that are sabotaging their goals 
  • Create new behaviours based on updated beliefs.
  • Understand and change the imprint of past experiences
  • Gain new insights into different issue, allowing for new creative solutions.
